Quick early morning flight from Arusha town into the deep center of Tarangire National Park where dramatic big game will surround you as you exit the plane! You travel through the northern gate and game view to Tarangire Sopa Lodge. Meet your special Landrovers and driver/guides and start immediately game viewing in this thickly wooded park famous for its elephant and leopard. The park is characterized by its great sand river, the Tarangire, and the bounty of animals usually found by its banks. Dinner and overnight at Tarangire Sopa Lodge.

Game view through the park this morning then continue up the Great Rift Valley for a mid-day game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Enjoy a picnic beside the lake which is often filled with flamingos. Continue in the afternoon into the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and to Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Begin with a dawn game drive in Ngorongoro Crater National Park. You'll make the quick descent through a glen of rare Lehai Acacia, Africa's "bonzaii" acacia. Once on the floor you'll understand why this is so often referred to as "Africa's Garden of Eden". At times there are 20,000 animals on the 100 sq. mile caldera floor, the highest density of lion in Africa, hundreds of hyaena and jackal, and large numbers of plains game. The central soda lake is often filled with flamingo. Enjoy your picnic breakfast beside a lake usually frequented by hippo. Return to the lodge for a later lunch, and in the afternoon you can return to the crater floor for a second drive, or relax at the lodge as well as visit a nearby Maasai village. After breakfast retrace your route around the crater rim over the lip of the crater towards the great Serengeti National Park. First stop is Olduvai Gorge where so many precious finds of early man were found. There will be time to visit the museum after a short lecture by the curator. Afterwards, your game viewing begins immediately as you head out over the great plains. Depending upon the season of your visit, you may stop at Shifting Sands and the Gol Kopjes. Along the way you'll enjoy a picnic lunch with undoubtedly an expansive view of Africa set before you! By the end of the day you've arrived at Ndutu Lodge in the great southwest lakes region for dinner and overnight.

The Serengeti's Great Migration is the hallmark of this ecosystem, but very weather dependent. More than a million animals move in pretty concentrated masses among more than 7,000 sq. miles. Your guide will have the most current information, will discuss recent sightings with our drivers and guides, and will do his utmost to put you in the midst of these great herds! But the Serengeti is also an ecosystem with huge amounts of resident game that never migrate! You'll have wonderful opportunities to see all the cats, a great variety of antelope and some oustanding bird life. In our best efforts to get you as close to the great herds as possible, tonight you'll either lodge at Ndutu Lodge or Ngorongoro Serena Lodge.

Today you move from the southwest to the center of the park and the landscape changes couldn't be more spectacular! Moreover, you'll travel to a classic tented camp for a real authentic safari experience for your last few nights! Travel first to Naabi Hill where you'll have time to climb the small hill for spectacular views of the surrounding veld. The forests around Ndutu are now replaced by endless grassland plains. Continue into the center of the park, Seronera, and enjoy an afternoon of game viewing before checking-in to your wonderful Classic Camp for dinner and overnight. In your tent tonight all the sounds of Africa will lure your imagination into the great days gone by when early explorers traveled into the continent and spent their many nights exactly this same way!

On your last day exploring this magnificent wilderness you'll see abundant game on the plains, in the woodlands and kopjes, and possibly near the great rivers like the Seronera. The Serengeti is a vast place. Many safaris spend too little time here with only a few hours to search for the great game, but we've dedicated four full days for optimum game viewing of the greatest collection of animals on earth! And then, again, you might not have to, as large numbers of animals may be found right outside your doorstep! You could spend a month in the Serengeti and not see it all. But we're convinced after this brief introduction, you'll understand as well as Bernard Gzmik why the "Serengeti Shall Not Die!" Spend some of your last evening around the camp fire recounting the dramas of the past week! Meals and overnight at a Classic Camp in the center of the park.

After breakfast you game view to the nearest Serengeti airstrip for the morning flight back to Arusha town, which is scheduled to arrive around noon. You'll be met by a new vehicle and driver who will take you shopping and for a meal at a popular local restaurant. Afterwards, you'll be returned to Kilimanjaro Airport where you'll have a private room at the Airport Planet Lodge which is located adjacent to the airport. Later this evening the lodge will shuttle you to the airport for the overnight departures to Europe.
