Offering 360° views over Addo Elephant National Park and close encounters with its resident wildlife, Addo Zuurberg Mountain Village is the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding region. Built in 1861 as a staging post, the hotel has been restored to its former glory.

Huge stone fireplaces dominate the high-ceilinged lounge, which is furnished with period antiques. The suites in the Manor have French doors leading onto private patios. Guests can relax in the English-style pub, before enjoying lavish meals in the dining area or outdoors around the swimming-pool. A romantic thatched chapel is set on the hillside overlooking the village.

Activities include hiking, horse-riding and mountain-bike trails, as well as game-drives. The extensive gardens also feature a children's play-park and tennis-courts.
