Olonana is situated on the banks of the Mara River in the west central part of the reserve. This is a fairly remote area with no other properties in the immediate vicinity, affording guests special exclusivity. The 14 spacious permanent tents include ensuite bathrooms with showers, and large, river view verandahs.

The camp prides itself on its gourmet cuisine, which is often served al fresco on the Siria escarpment overlooking the Mara plains or as a picnic deep in the bush. The camp has a comfortable sitting area with some books from the camp's library lounge and a small swimming pool, something unusual for Mara camps.
