Ndutu Lodge is a much-loved, little and simple safari lodge overlooking Lake Ndutu on the border of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Serengeti National Park. It is the only permanent lodge or camp in a huge area of great importance for those interested in seeing the great migration. Very seasonal, this southwestern tip of the Serengeti is historically where the migration arrives at the end of the year and stays until May when the rains stop. The 1500 sq. miles of these southern grassland plains has only this one, little permanent facility.

Since the lodge refuses to give allocations to the mainline safari companies the lodge does not usually appear on most foreign itineraries, which is great for those in the know! Used mostly by foreign residents of Arusha, diplomats and boutique safari companies like EWT, it remains a prized getaway unavailable to the mainstream tourist.

The simple cabins are replete with every convenience, and are lined up facing Lake Ndutu. Family style meals are served in the dining room that is attached to the bar and covered veranda, which also overlook Lake Ndutu.
