Mivumo River Lodge
Located well away from the upper Rufiji River which is somewhat congested with camps, this is truly an isolated area. There are only 12 rooms and one lavish suite. All the rooms are individual wooden structures built on stilts on the steep river bank with a sumptuous design perfectly in keeping with the landscape. Indulgent features include a colonial bathroom with romantic claw-foot bath, minibar and tea and coffee facilities, a huge and inviting bed, writing desk, lounge furniture and a large furnished terrace with sublime river views and an outdoor shower. The public areas including the warm dining room are also thatch and wood in keeping with the minimal ecological impact the lodge makes in this very remote and pristine area. Activities include vehicle game drives in open landrovers and boat trips on the Rufiji. Trips including Mivumo River Lodge
