Lake Nakuru National Park is famous for its thousands - sometimes tens of thousands - of flamingoes. It is one of Kenya's Great Rift Valley lakes located north of Lake Naivasha and west of the Aberdare Range.

The park is composed of dense acacia forests surrounding a large soda lake. It is Kenya's only totally fenced-in national park, which has allowed it to successfully preserve both white and black rhinos and the very endangered Rothschild giraffe.

The park also contains one of the largest varieties of birds of any park in Africa, plus a variety of other game like impala, waterhog, zebra, wildebeest, etc.
