Lagoon Camp lies on the shady banks of the Kwando River among tall and ancient African Ebony and Marula trees, under the watchful gaze of the resident hippos. The camp is composed of 8 twin bedded luxury safari-style tents. Each tent looks out over the water and has private en-suite facilities, including hot and cold running water, open-air showers and flush toilets. The camp has a bar and large lounge and dining area.

Morning and night game drives are conducted by the camp’s specialist guides and trackers in open safari vehicles. Lagoon is famous as one of the best venues in Africa for wild dog viewing. Dogs have denned near the camp every year of the camp’s existence having grown remarkably relaxed in the presence of the camp’s vehicles.

The ecology of this area in the Linyanti wetlands is nearly identical to the more popular Chobe National Park to the east, attracting huge numbers of elephant and buffalo, but it lacks the crowded game viewing now occurring in northern Chobe.

In addition to excellent game viewing, this area of the Kwando River is among the best in Botswana for birding and fishing. The camp provides several boats that can be used for either activity.
