The Inkaterra Machu Picchu is composed of 85 stone casitas and villas, few which are similar, set in a lush 12-acre forest not far from the Machu-Picchu train station. There is a feeling of walking into a gated town house community, as even the exteriors of the rooms and suites are built differently. The various rooms are linked by a number of walkways through beautifully landscaped “Amazon” gardens. The private adjacent forest has several paths that lead to outstanding tropical bird hides and several small water falls.

All the rooms have full facilities. Many rooms and all the various categories of suites have an open wood-burning fireplace, plus separate sitting and dining areas. Many of the bathrooms are stylistically modern. Several of the suites have plunge pools.

The complex has a restaurant and bar, plus a nature tour center that operates structured nature walks and other excursions daily. There is a spa featuring local herbal treatments, a gift shop and wifi.
