Gorilla's Nest Lodge is the standard option for midmarket treks to the mountain gorillas. It is a larger (45 rooms), affordable and pleasant looking property, and its bar attracts many researchers and other staff involved in gorilla management as it is closest to the town of Kinigi.

The lodge has been built under a grove of trees with the rooms set around a large courtyard. Each of the rooms is minimally appointed with en-suite facilities. There is a spacious restaurant that serves abundant if standard fair.

   The lodge has extensive grounds, including a partially completed golf course. On a clear day the views across to the volcanoes and surrounding area is spectacular.
