Historic and beautiful, the Aberdare Country Club is located in the highlands above Nyeri town in the foothills of the Aberdare Mountains, and within site of Mt. Kenya. It was the only colonial country club in the white highlands. Today owned by Fairmont Hotels, there are well decorated old cottages and rooms with thick ebony and mahogony woods, set in luscious grounds exploding with giant bounganvillea and other beautiful plants. There is a 3-hole golf course, riding track and private reserve filled with game, a tennis court and swimming pool. At night staff light fires in the public rooms and private rooms to cut through the cold mountain air. The club is the perfect start to exploring the Aberdare National Park.
